Who are Neighborhood Builders®?

Local nonprofit organizations are a critical component of creating healthy, safe and economically-viable communities. Yet, they often go unrecognized for the exceptional services and opportunities they provide to thousands of neighborhoods across the country. Whether it is a local performing arts center for underserved youth, a counseling center for pregnant women or a food bank serving the area’s homeless, nonprofit organizations extend a helping hand to those who need it most.

“I create opportunity, create options. When we work with people to improve their financial standing, to start a business, to increase their savings, to reduce their debt, to own a business, we expand their options.”

— Luis Granados, Executive
    Director, Mission Economic
    Development Agency,
    San Francisco Builder

Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builder award has helped nearly 600 nonprofits across the country continue to address local challenges and grow their programs, enabling them to improve the quality of life for even more individuals.

For their outstanding work on behalf of many, and to bolster their reach, Neighborhood Builders receive $200,000 in unrestricted funding over two years and leadership training development for emerging executives.
